Jiong Ma

Dr. John Ma has over 20 years of experience in research & development, higher education, investments, and management in both the US and China, mainly in the fields of biotechnology, IT, climate change,and renewable energy. Currently, he is a Vice President at CL Investment Group (New York), and Director of Corporate Branding.

Prior to this, Dr. Ma was the North American President of China Merchants New Energy Group, and a Professor and Founding Vice Dean of Peking University (Shenzhen campus).  John has also held various senior research positions at universities and research institutes in the US. 

Dr. Ma has also been very active in supporting non-profit organizations over the past 20 years. He was a founding member of the US-China Green Energy Council and has been a Board member of the 1990 Institute since 2002. In his time in Shenzhen, he also served as a Senior Hi-Tech Consultant to the Shenzhen Municipal Government. Dr. Ma holds a B.S. from Peking University, an M.S. from Rutgers University (1997), both in Molecular Biology, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics from Stanford University (2006).
