Samuel Galler

Sam currently works for Redstone Strategy Group as a social sector consultant for major foundations and nonprofits. He is very interested in the nonprofit sector and community-driven social impact initiatives. He previously completed Postdoctoral Fellowships at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University and National Taiwan University, where he was a Blakemore-Freeman Fellow. He also directed a research NGO based in China that designed, piloted, and evaluated crowdsourced public health interventions. His doctoral dissertation focused on civil society organizations in China, and he has been involved in a number of U.S.-China relations initiatives. He has worked for McKinsey’s Greater China Office and for the Rwanda Development Board.



Sam has a DPhil in International Development from the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and a MA and BA from Harvard University, where he studied East Asian Studies and Global Health and Health Policy. Sam’s academic interests include social stigma, innovation, civil society, global health, international development, machine learning, and Chinese literature and philosophy.
