Caroline Pan
Caroline Pan is a global business leader with nearly 30 years of experience across the tech, automotive, and manufacturing industries, having held executive roles at companies like Intel, Ford, HP, and most recently as Chief Marketing Officer at Lumentum. She’s led teams and built businesses in over 40 countries, including 13 years based in Shanghai, where she worked closely with customers, policymakers, and global partners. With engineering roots from MIT and an MBA from Harvard, Caroline brings a unique blend of technical depth and strategic vision.
Dion Lim
Emmy Award–winning journalist Dion Lim spent nearly two decades as a television news anchor and reporter, most recently with ABC7 San Francisco. Her groundbreaking reporting on anti-Asian violence helped spark a national conversation and was featured across Good Morning America, Nightline, 20/20 and many major national and international media outlets. She is the author of the new book AMPLIFY! My Fight For Asian America and currently serves as Chief Strategist the Asian American Voices foundation. Today, Dion is a sought-after keynote speaker and media presence advisor, helping high-profile executives and politicians find their voice in defining moments. Her current client roster ranges from political heavyweights running for governor and for congress to preparing a tech executive for a global keynote. Dion lives in San Francisco with her husband and young son.
Evan Low
Evan Low is the President & CEO of LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and LGBTQ+ Victory Institute. A California native, Evan's career reflects a steadfast commitment to public service, including over a decade in the California State Assembly, where he has led groundbreaking efforts to ensure marriage equality, LGBTQ+ rights, and economic opportunity. Evan made history as the first Asian American elected to the Campbell City Council and as the youngest openly LGBTQ+ mayor in the nation. A former Bohnett Fellow and past Victory Institute Board of Directors member, Evan embodies Victory's mission and long-held dedication to expanding LGBTQ+ representation. His leadership and service have been widely recognized, earning him multiple "Legislator of the Year" honors and a proclamation of "Evan Low Day" from then-San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.
Sora Lee
Sora Lee is the CEO of JIYU, a K-beauty brand focused on skin health and longevity, and the founder of Hustle & Heart, a functional wellness brand. She's also founder of Kurated Agency, where her team partners with the most iconic K-beauty brands to become cultural forces in the U.S. market. A Korean American operator based in the Bay Area, Sora built her platform (@soraunni, ~700K) as a bicultural voice at the intersection of beauty, wellness, and Korean culture.
Benjamin Lei
Benjamin (Ben) Lei is a biotechnology marketing executive, journalist, and media creator whose career spans healthcare innovation and AANHPI storytelling. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Arcellx, a cancer biotechnology company that was recently acquired by Gilead Sciences, where he helped shape the commercialization strategy for next-generation cell therapies. Prior to Arcellx, Ben held commercial leadership roles at Genentech and has spent more than a decade helping bring innovative oncology therapies to patients. He also serves on the advisory board of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA).
Beyond biotech, Ben is the founder and host of United By Rice, an online media platform and podcast dedicated to elevating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) voices in film, television, and popular culture through in-depth interviews, red carpet coverage, and original journalism. As an entertainment journalist, he has interviewed award-winning actors, filmmakers, and creators while championing greater representation and celebrating the stories shaping today's entertainment industry.
Steven Kan
As the Other Bets Director at Alphabet, Steven oversees the company’s diverse portfolio of frontier investments and operating companies, including Waymo, Isomorphic Labs, X, and GV. He transitioned into this role after serving as the COO and Director of Operations for Google Cloud AI, where he managed business and engineering operations while leading the Responsible AI and Data Privacy teams. Since joining Google in 2011, Steven has been instrumental in scaling ubiquitous products like Google Drive, Chrome OS, and Android.
Steven’s career is rooted in a strong background of venture capital and business operations, having held leadership roles at Apture, Clearstone, and Redpoint. He began his professional journey at Overture, where he helped scale the contextual advertising business to a $100 million run rate. An Applied Physics graduate from Yale with an MBA from UCLA Anderson, Steven currently serves on the Yale Engineering Leadership Council and as Board Chair for the Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation.
Jeff Ting
Jeffrey Ting is a Managing Director and Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, based in San Mateo, California. As part of Ting & Associates, he provides goals-based financial planning and customized investment strategies for individuals, families, business owners, and nonprofit organizations.
With nearly three decades of experience in the financial services industry, Jeffrey takes a disciplined, personalized approach to helping clients navigate complex financial decisions and pursue their long-term objectives.
Jeffrey has been recognized by Forbes as a Best-in-State Wealth Advisor for nine consecutive years (2018–2026). He has also been named to the Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams list (2023–2026) as a member of Ting & Associates.*
A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Jeffrey is also an active community leader and supporter of numerous nonprofit organizations throughout the Bay Area.
Dr. Helen H Hsu
Dr. Helen H. Hsu is a Past President of the American Psychological Association Div. 45 (Society for the Study of Race, Culture, and Ethnicity) and a Past President and Fellow of the Asian American Psychological Association. She is the Director of Outreach and a Lecturer at Stanford University Counseling and Psychological Services where she implements education and prevention efforts to promote campus-wide mental health care. She is a core member of the Stanford Grief Team, and liaisons with cultural community centers. Helen is the Clinical Lead at Pandora Bio which develops precision mental health early detection tools for college populations. Helen is also an advisory board member of the JED foundation, focused on youth suicide prevention. She was a member of the APA Committee on Sexual Orientation and Gender Expression as well as a mentor with the APA MFP Training Advisory Committee. Helen spent 20 years in community-based clinics within historically marginalized communities and continues to engage in leadership roles in cross-racial and cross-profession alliances. Her Healing Trauma Workbook for Asian Americans was published by New Harbinger in 2024.
Dr. Rona Hu
Dr. Rona Hu is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine and serves as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. A nationally recognized psychiatrist, she specializes in schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, cultural psychiatry, and Asian American mental health. She previously served for two decades as Medical Director of Stanford Hospital's Acute Psychiatric Inpatient Unit and founded both the Stanford Mental Health for Asians Research and Treatment (SMHART) clinic and Stanford CHIPAO (Communication Health Interactive for Parents of Adolescents and Others), an innovative theater-based program that helps Asian American families strengthen communication and reduce mental health stigma. Dr. Hu is also known for her leadership in suicide prevention and developing culturally responsive approaches to mental healthcare. She received the American Psychiatric Association's Kun-Po Soo Award for leadership in Asian American mental health.
Jessica Song
Dr. Jessica is a lecturer at UC Berkeley and the founder of SEED Education Partners, a boutique educational consulting practice in the Bay Area. With over 15 years of teaching and research experience spanning elementary through higher education, she brings both depth and perspective to her work. She is deeply passionate about mentoring teenagers and young adults, and believes that every student holds tremendous potential. Through honest, thoughtful guidance, she helps students find paths that align with who they are and who they hope to become.
Karen Castillo
Karen Castillo was born in Mexico City and raised in the Bay Area. She is a Woodside High School alumna and received her B.A in Sociology, Social Services from CSUEB. She is passionate about helping underrepresented youth receive opportunities and resources that are not readily available to them. She hopes to be a resource for youth to find their passions and their talents and through service make a positive impact in their communities.
Ashley Yee-Mazawa
Ashley Yee-Mazawa joined the YCS team in 2014 as a Program Director and became YCS Senior Director in the fall of 2022. She earned a BA in Community Studies from UC Santa Cruz, where she also minored in teaching and education. She later earned an MA at San Francisco State University in Women’s and Gender Studies. Ashley is passionate about youth empowerment
Maggie Xie
Maggie Xie is the Executive Director of Red Envelope Collective, a youth-led organization integrating Asian American narratives into K-5 education. She is dedicated to bringing youth voice into curriculum development, and has created 80 curriculum materials to distribute across 250 classrooms with recognition from the Orange County Department of Education, California Association of Asian & Pasifika Leaders in Education, UCLA/Refugee Material Culture Initiative, and more. Maggie is passionate about storytelling and civic engagement, and continues to empower other young people to shape inclusive and equitable education spaces through her work with Diversify Our Narrative, the Chinese Historical Society of America, and other initiatives.
Gabriel Young
Gabriel Young (he/his) strives to be one for and with others by serving the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community through multiple ventures. Recently, Gabriel graduated from the UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy Masters of Public Policy program and currently organizes as the National Federation of Filipino American Association’s (NaFFAA) Northern California Region President & Chair, a LEAD Filipino Civic Engagement Organizer, and an inaugural member of the Filipino American National Historical Society’s Youth Advisory Council. Previously, Gabriel had the great honor to work in the Biden-Harris's White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) and the California Commission on Asian Pacific Islander Affairs where he helped pursue Equity, Justice, and Opportunity for AA & NHPI communities Gabriel graduated as an undergraduate honors student from The George Washington University with a B.A. in Political Science: Public Policy Focus and International Affairs.
Cameron N. Sasai
Mayor Cameron Sasai serves as the 53rd Mayor of Pinole, California. Elected to the City Council in 2022, he became the first Filipino American, the second Asian American, and the youngest person elected to represent the city in its more than 120-year history. In 2024, he made history again as Pinole's first Filipino American mayor and youngest mayor. Born and raised in Pinole, Mayor Sasai is the son of a Filipina immigrant mother and a Japanese American father. He earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science–Public Service from the University of California, Davis, after attending Contra Costa College and Diablo Valley College. His priorities include affordable housing, economic development, environmental sustainability, and advancing equity through public policy. He also serves as Chair of the West Contra Costa Transportation Commission and as Statewide Chair of the Filipino American Democratic Caucus of the California Democratic Party.
Andrew Chau
Andrew Chau is co-founder and CEO of Boba Guys and Tea. People USA, a Inc. Magazine 500 award recipient and one of the fastest-growing independent retail chains in America. He has been featured as a notable industry thought leader on CNN, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and NPR. In addition to a career in consumer marketing at Wal-Mart, Clorox, and Target, Andrew started and exited his first startup, Vergence Media, in 2011.
In his free time, he loves traveling and is a freelance writer, guest lecturer, and an angel investor for consumer-driven businesses. His best-selling book with Penguin Random House, The Boba Book, came out in April 2020. In 2022, he was recognized as one of Ernst & Young’s prestigious Entrepreneurs of the Year. In 2023, he received ABA’s Visionary of the Year award.
He has his undergraduate and graduate degrees from UC Berkeley. His greatest loves are his dog Kuromitsu and the New York Mets.
Alan Tien
Alan Tien is an accomplished cross-border executive, investor, author, and coach with more than three decades of leadership experience in technology, global strategy, and U.S.–Asia engagement. He spent over a decade at PayPal in senior global roles, including General Manager of PayPal China, where he led cross-border trade initiatives and helped shape domestic product development. He later served as Visa’s Vice President of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships for Asia Pacific, building regional partnerships and guiding financial institutions through digital transformation.
Today, Alan is an executive and life coach, angel investor, and advisor, helping entrepreneurs and leaders navigate complexity, purpose, and growth. He also helped establish Stanford’s Asian American Research Center as part of its core alumni leadership group, raising awareness and resources for Asian American scholarship.
A Stanford graduate in Electrical Engineering, Alan has lived and worked across the U.S., China, and Southeast Asia and is passionate about mentoring future leaders.
Dr. Gwenn Lei
Dr. Gwenn Lei is the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction at the San Mateo County Office of Education, where she leads efforts to support district leaders in strengthening equitable instructional systems across San Mateo County’s 23 school districts. Before joining the county office in 2016, she served as Regional Director of the California Reading and Literature Project at University of California, Berkeley and as a district coordinator of English Learner Services. She has taught in graduate teacher preparation programs and served on leadership teams with the California Department of Education in both literacy and History–Social Science. Born in Hong Kong and raised in San Francisco and across the Peninsula, Dr. Lei brings a deep commitment to community, culture, and the belief that schools must actively disrupt predictable outcomes for students based on race, language, or disability.
Jeremy Chan-Kraushar
Jeremy Chan-Kraushar is an attorney, educator, and organizational strategist who began his career as an English and Math teacher for students with learning disabilities in a public school in Brooklyn. He identifies as a biracial, Chinese, white, Jewish-American cisgender man and holds an M.Ed in Special Education, an MPA with focus areas in public policy and public administration, and a J.D. with a focus on civil rights and education.
Jeremy has coordinated, managed, and developed multiple initiatives and programs for New York City Public Schools including the Competency Collaborative, an historic Implicit Bias Awareness Initiative, and Culturally Responsive and Sustaining Education implementation programming. He consults and coaches full time and has personally facilitated workshops in-person and virtually for over 15,000 participants. He has worked with UCLA School of Law, California Teachers Association, the Coalition of Asian Children and Families (CACF), NYC Men Teach, the Pennsylvania Educator Diversity Consortium, and the Center for Racial Justice in Education, among others.
John Wang
John Wang is the author of Big Asian Energy, an honoree of Amazon’s Best Business Books 2025 list alongside Bill Gates and Jefferson Fisher, the host of the Big Asian Energy show, and founder of Mastery Academy, which helps Asian professionals break through barriers. He's worked with clients at Google, Apple, Amazon, and Goldman Sachs, blending cultural insight and science-backed strategies to build confidence and visibility. His content on assertiveness and imposter syndrome has reached over 25 million views and 240,000+ followers. As host of the Big Asian Energy podcast, he spotlights Asian American leaders and change makers redefining success. A TEDx speaker and world traveler to 52 countries, John's mission is to help Asian Americans lead with confidence and claim their space.
Jason Ting
Jason Ting is a Managing Director and Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, based in San Mateo, California, and a key member of Ting & Associates. Deb Liu
Deb Liu is the co-founder of Ember AI, a startup bringing workflow automation to enterprises, and the former President and CEO of Ancestry. A veteran technology executive, she spent over a decade at Meta, where she created Facebook Marketplace, and previously held product leadership roles at PayPal and eBay. She serves on the Board of Directors of Intuit and is the founder of Women in Product, a nonprofit with over 30,000 members. She is the author of Take Back Your Power: 10 New Rules for Women at Work and holds a B.S. from Duke University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Zeien Cheung
Zeien Cheung is a Dutch-Chinese business leader, nonprofit co-founder, chair of the San Francisco Red Cross Leadership Council, and board member. Her career spans law and tech, with expertise in negotiation, contract strategy, and building high-performing teams across global markets. Zeien is deeply committed to creating spaces of belonging and empowerment for those navigating identity across borders, whether as immigrants or diaspora, by honoring heritage and building unity. She believes in guiding and amplifying the next generation of changemakers, especially those navigating identity across cultures.
Dave Lu
Dave Lu is the founder and Managing Partner of Hyphen Capital, which has invested over $35M in Asian American founded companies. He is a Silicon Valley veteran, having worked at Yahoo, eBay, Apple and Cisco before starting two companies. In 2021, Dave started a movement with an open letter condemning hate crimes against Asians that was signed by over 8,000 prominent business leaders and influencers including the CEOs of Google, LinkedIn, DoorDash, President George W. Bush, Andre Iguodala, and JJ Abrams, and was published as a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal which led to the launch of Stand with Asian Americans, a non-profit organization committed to fighting discrimination against Asian Americans.
Dave was also an executive producer of the Emmy Award-winning HBO documentary ‘38 at the Garden’ about Jeremy Lin. He regularly writes thought pieces about leadership and hosts a podcast with influential Asian American leaders on Hyphen Nation. Dave also serves on the advisory board of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center and the Leadership Council of Apex for Youth.
Thien Pham
Thien Pham is a graphic novelist and educator based in Oakland, CA. He is the author and illustrator of the graphic novel Sumo and the illustrator for the middle-grade graphic novel Level Up, written by Gene Luen Yang. His graphic novel, Family Style, a memoir about his family's immigration to America told through the lens of food, has been on numerous best-of lists including the Washington Post’s “Top Ten Graphic Novels of 2023” and Publishers Weekly's “20 Books We Love.” Family Style was a finalist for the ALA YALSA Excellence in Non-Fiction and won an Eisner award for Best Memoir Graphic Novel. Currently, Pham is working on his next graphic novel, teaching, and eating. A lot.
Rajen Sheth
Rajen Sheth is CEO and Founder of Kyron Learning, a public benefit company focused on giving all students equitable access to high quality one-on-one teaching using AI.
Previously, Rajen was VP of Google Cloud AI and Industry Solution as part of a 17 year career at Google. He focused on building products that enable enterprises to transform themselves through AI, and building transformative products for Google Cloud’s key industries: healthcare, retail, financial services, media/entertainment, and manufacturing.
Earlier on, Rajen led the development of Android and Chrome for business and education, including the Android for Enterprise products, the Chromebooks for Education product line, and Chromebooks and Chrome browser for enterprise. Rajen also helped create and lead product development for Google Apps for Enterprise and Education (now known as Google Workspace), used by over 5 million businesses and 200 million students.
Freda Lin
Freda Lin is the Co-Founder/Director of YURI Education Project, a consulting business that develops PK-12 professional learning and educational resources centered on Asian American history for schools, organizations, and cultural institutions. She began this work as an undergraduate at Northwestern University, where she initiated and led a campaign to implement an Asian American Studies program. She became a history teacher to integrate these and other marginalized stories into schools. Freda taught middle and high school history and leadership in Chicago and San Francisco Bay Area schools for 16 years. After leaving the teaching field, she consulted with the Center for Asian American Media and UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project, and was the Education Program Director of the Fred T. Korematsu Institute. Freda currently serves on the National Council for History Education(NCHE) Board of Directors.
Barbara Hong, MA
Barbara is a culturally-sensitive Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Yellow Chair Collective with a special focus in serving the immigrant community. She helps individuals, adolescents, and families to navigate depression, anxiety, identity and self-worth, and intergenerational trauma. Barbara has worked closely with students of all ages to build agency and confidence, and with parents to strengthen emotional literacy and self-care. She received her M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University, and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She previously worked at Chinatown Service Center and the International Rescue Committee.
Pamela Chen
Pamela Chen is a cross-border business and marketing leader with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations drive growth, innovation, and market expansion across the United States and Asia. As Founder of KUÀ Advisory, she advises companies on international expansion, brand strategy, and go-to-market execution, helping bridge global ambition with local insight.
Previously, Pamela served as Partner and Managing Director at Mother Shanghai and held leadership roles at AKQA, Grey, Ogilvy, Mindshare, and WPP Ventures. She has led award-winning initiatives for global brands including Apple, Google, LVMH, Nike, P&G, and L’Oréal.
Earlier in her career, Pamela worked at the intersection of venture capital, technology, and innovation, supporting China-focused investments with New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Northern Light Venture Capital.
Having lived and worked extensively in China, Taiwan, and Japan, Pamela brings deep expertise in cross-cultural leadership and consumer behavior. She is passionate about mentoring emerging leaders and strengthening connections between the U.S. and Asia. Pamela earned her B.A. from UCLA and her MBA through the Tsinghua–MIT Sloan program, where she was recognized for her social contributions.
Lindsay Bryan-Podvin
Lindsay Bryan-Podvin (she/her), owner and founder of Mind Money Balance, is a mixed Filipina, certified financial therapist, and LMSW who began her career in mental health treatment and advocacy. She quickly found her niche at the intersection of mental health and money. Her work explores how cultural identity, family systems, and systemic forces shape our relationship with money across generations.
She is the creator of the Mind Money Balance Method, a financial wellness approach rooted in her work developing and facilitating a proven curriculum at the University of Michigan. She’s the author of The Financial Anxiety Solution, which helps people work through money-related anxiety.
In addition to hosting the Mind Money Balance podcast and YouTube channel, she has been featured in major media outlets such as Vox, CNN, Real Simple, CNBC, NPR, CNET, Bustle, and HuffPost.
She holds a degree in sociology from Michigan State University, a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan, with certificates in Financial Social Work and Financial Therapy. She lives with her partner and their dog, Birdie, on the occupied land of the Anishinaabe, also known as Michigan.
Stacy Wang
Stacey Wang is the Chief Executive Officer of Yu Ming Charter School. Stacey has spent her career advancing innovation and equity in education. Previously, she served as CEO of the San Francisco Education Fund, where she mobilized more than $12 million in resources for San Francisco public school students, educators, schools, and families. She was a partner at Transcend Education and served as Advisor to the Superintendent and Director of Personalized Learning for Oakland Unified School District, where she worked with school and system leaders to transform learning for 7,000 students. Earlier in her career, she worked in strategy and organizational change at Monitor Deloitte and the Center for the Edge. Stacey has served on the Board of Trustees of Leadership High School and is an Education Pioneers, Broad, and Pahara fellow. She holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, a master’s degree in education leadership through the Broad Residency, and an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Stacey lives in the Bay Area with her husband and daughter.
Steven Sust, MD
Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine, specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry and integrated care. His work focuses on expanding access to mental health care for underserved communities, with interests spanning cultural psychiatry, school mental health, and behavioral health integration. He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Pennsylvania and his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Stanford.
Hudson Liao
Founder and Executive Director of Asians Are Strong, a San Francisco-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering and protecting the Asian American community. Founded in 2021 in response to rising anti-Asian violence, the organization promotes confidence, community connection, and personal safety through self-defense training, rallies, and community programs. Hudson is also CEO and Co-founder of The Hog, an AI startup. A longtime community volunteer and advocate, he is committed to strengthening and empowering Asian Americans of all generations.
